Trunk or Treat

Happy Halloween!!

So yesterday because Jeff was at an ASU football game, and I didn't want to go to my ward's Fall Festival by myself, I went to the Trunk or Treat with my parent's ward. It was fun, and I'm glad I was able to dress Wyatt up and actually use his costume.

He was the main attraction, haha! ;)

The ward had a pumkin/apple pie contest...so there was LOTS of pie. Can you tell Wyatt wanted some?

And these are just some cute shots of my little gnome greeting the Trick or Treaters! Enjoy!

BOXES.

It drives me crazy that babies would rather play with paper and boxes and useless junk rather than their expensive toys. Or, well, Wyatt does, at least. I'm having a hard time justifying buying him any birthday presents when he'd rather just have the wrapping paper. ANYWAY, today's entertainment was an empty box I threw out of his closet...

He's started to notice that when something rolls under the couch, or in this box that is too small for him to crawl into, if he tries different positions, he can reach whatever it is...he gets onto his tummy (bum in the air), lowers his head, and stretches!

"Boxes are SO fun, Mom! I can push it...

...and I can bounce up and down on it...

...and I can tap this blue, plastic tube, that I love so much, on it...

...and I can play with the flaps...

...and I can show you how strong I am by lifting it up!! Isn't that awesome Mom?"

Yes. Yes, it is very awesome that you can be entertained by a BOX.

But then again, it doesn't always last...trouble always lurks right around the corner...

He wanted to go play with the shelves again...those same shelves that contain all manner of Wyatt's favorite off-limit items. He knows he's not supposed to play with them and he doesn't, but he always looks longingly over at them. And then I when I say No, I get this reaction:

Haha, he's also beginning to be a little more dramatic...
(have you seen a better puppy-dog face??? Haha)

But we always make it better!

And the random picture of the post:
I gave him a bite of broccoli. And he ate it. So I gave him another bite...the next second I turn around, I see it all over his face. And hands. And highchair.

First pumpkin

We carved pumpkins yesterday (sadly I don't have a picture of the finished product...) and I wanted to share Wyatt's experience.

It wasn't anything special, but he thought the pumpkins were strange...I tried to put his arm into the center, but he wasn't having any of that. He did like the slimy pumpkin guts though, which was funny. Here are a few pictures and a movie, enjoy!

Introductions

I realized after I had talked about Maximus the Yard Gnome I should have also posted some pictures of him as well...and then I got a request too, so...here you go.

Meet Maximus:
He's a cute looking fella...and like I said, very sun-bleached.
He guards our door.

(don't mind the dirty doorstep or dead plant in the empty pot...I'm working on it...)

And the correct answer is...

...a GNOME!!!

Yes, I decided to dress Wyatt up like a gnome for Halloween. Let me give you some background for my decision (besides the fact that Wyatt would make an ADORABLE gnome...)

For all of you that don't know, Jeff has a small obsession with yard gnomes. When I first found out I thought it was absurd. And weird. And of all things, WHY gnomes?! Anyway, I got over it and it's become a joke around our house. I bought him one for our first anniversary, and it still sits on our front steps, bleached by the sun. Jeff gave the thing a name. Jeff took it places, took pictures of it in the passenger seat of the car (buckled and everything) and pretended it was real. Hello. Jeff. Is. Crazy.
:)

SO ANYWAY, I thought it would be hilarious to dress our precious baby in a gnome costume this year...

And he is the cute-est gnome EVER!

(Oh, and you might be wondering the name of Jeff's gnome...maybe not, but it's hilarious, so I'll tell you. Jeff named it Maximus. Yes. Maximus the Yard Gnome.)

My son was blessed with...

...the Downs' bubble butt.
(and maybe his extreme love for food too?? Look at that belly!)

(Oh yeah...today Wyatt is 11 months...one month left to go and he'll be the big #1!)

Time for the troops...

...we've been attacked...
...by TEETH!!
Wyatt had his first experience with having his teeth brushed...
...aaaand...he pretty much thought it was awesome.
Go teeth!

(By the way, he has 4 teeth altogether, with more on the way...2 top teeth, and 2 bottom ones...)

LOVE

Wyatt makes me incredibly happy.

I know I have a lot of random posts of the things we do together, and they might not seem very exciting, but I want to share what I love about my little boy:

I love his constantly changing facial expressions, and especially his goofy smiles. I love his never-ending laughter. I love his squeals. I love when he discovers something new, like his tongue. I love to watch him dance. I love to play games with him. I love his kisses and slobber and I even sometimes love his teeth when they bite me. I love that his personality is happy. I love that he wants to please. I love that he loves me. And I love that I love him.

I was trying to put him to bed, but all he wanted to do was play. So we played. Every picture is a different time I would chase him across the bed and grab him...and he would laugh hysterically :)

we're silly together

Wyatt, come play with me!

...let me think about it, Mom...

...yeah...okay!

You make the funniest faces EVER, mom!

Hey! Where are you going?? Why are you crawling away from me?

I'll get you Mom!

Did you see what she did? She crawled away from me! But I got her!

What the...? Where'd this basketball come from?!

I love my basketball!!

Alright...I'm done with that. What's next?

Seriously...what's next?

Oh. Mom says it's time for bed...goodnight!
