rain, rain, come this way...

Seriously, it's 100 degrees one day, and the next day, it's raining and back in the 80's.

...Wyatt in front of our house!

What I hate most about Arizona rain is that it never lasts long enough. A half hour after it stopped raining the clouds were gone and it was completely sunny again, like we'd never had any rain.
Wyatt was sad and said, "I want more water, please?"

summertime already.

It's already hit 100 degrees, and it's not even May.

BUT, one good thing that comes from our excessive heat, is our early start in the swimming pools! And in this case, the splash pad! For our playdate this last week, the kids got to play at the splash pad, and loved it, of course.

...and I don't know what it is, but I can NEVER remember to put sunblock on myself.
Lucky me, I get to start the summer with some crazy-looking burn. took me a few minutes, but I finally realized I must have gotten this from when I was sitting in the shade of a tree. Obviously the shade was a scam, and the sun shone through the leaves and left a nice little "leaf" print on me.

an evening OUT

Sometimes when I've been in the house for a few days I need to get OUT. So after Jeff got off work yesterday I planned a little outing for our family...and in the process, also got a few errands done as well! I love it when that happens :)

On our way to pick up Daddy!
We first stopped at the Distribution Center--I was in dire need of new gear.
Then we headed across the street to take a walk around the temple...AND we got to try out our new stroller! At first I thought it was HUGE, but it's actually nice and I like it a lot. Wyatt really likes it too--it offers him a lot more freedom, but at the same time, he's still in my control :)
Daddy wanted to try it out too, haha!
This is a typical Wyatt move...
...and here's the better shot

It was lovely outside, perfect and overcast.

Wyatt REALLY likes flowers. The temple grounds always have beautiful seasonal flowers growing, and Wyatt was in heaven. He loved to get out to smell them, and we had fun naming all the colors...

...and of course, he had to "share" with Logan too...

Jeff found these little caterpillars on one plant and when he touched one of them, it fell, but was still attached to a thin wisp of silk...or something. Kind of like what a spider was weird.

After the temple, we headed over to Deseret Book and looked around (Jeff loves that place as much as I do!). I found some good potential Mother's Day gifts (hint, hint) and Jeff found a nice tie clip. We ended our evening with a visit to Chick-fil-A for dinner and saw my sister at work. Wyatt was thrilled. He got a balloon and everything :)

I am so blessed to have my family. I love spending time together, and evenings like this are bliss.

Oh the hardships of a two-year-old.

Logan's Latest: 3 months old!

I don't know how 3 months went by so quickly.
I remember thinking with Wyatt that he was an angel, but this second time around with Logan has been a whole lot less stressful. Maybe it's because we're more experienced, but really, it's just because Logan is super sweet, and super easy-going. I'm not going to say there hasn't been hard times,'s rare.

Logan is officially sleeping through the night. And I say "officially" because although he's been sleeping at night since we got home from the hospital, he's now able to get 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. Did you know that I've never had to deal with an up-all-nighter?? Or even an up-more-than-twice-nighter? The boy loves his sleep.

Logan also found his hands this last month. Now he sticks his fingers in his mouth whenever he can, and actually prefers those to his binky :) He also is trying to figure out how to grab things, and likes to reach out for whatever catches his eye...

...and his hair just continues to grow...
...which makes for some lovely curls when wet...
...and some epic scare-hair in the morning! (Mommy too...)
He's a happy, happy boy!
 And he loves to laugh!

A few other things that he's started doing this last month:

He drools like a champ. All over the place, all the time. There's also something about his tongue that he's trying to figure out--it's constantly going in and out, in and out, in and out of his mouth...
He's started wearing 6 month onesies, and I had to buy new ones because it's SO DANG HOT! I only had long sleeved things his size from Wyatt...
He likes to stand up on his legs.
He's starting to recognize familiar faces and now smiles at Wyatt and other people he knows.

He gets cuter and cuter every day.
I love my little Logan.

I talked to my sister a few nights ago, and realized how much I miss her. I found myself telling her about everything, and nothing at the same time...and it was...pleasant.

Having two babies makes you especially thankful for adult conversations.

Anyway, she said she misses my babies, her nephews, and requested a movie from here you go Grace, just for you.

Now you better hold up your end of the bargain and get yourself blogging ;)

3 easy steps to a great morning.

Step ONE: Read directions.

Step TWO: Follow directions.

Step THREE: Devour banana and forget about sticker completely.

For Wyatt's first Christmas we got him some puzzles--an alphabet, a number, and a shape puzzle. He didn't really understand them so much at first, of course, and he mostly just liked to pull the pieces off and look at the pictures behind them. But by his second birthday he was able to put all the pieces where they were supposed to go.

(We're working on naming numbers right now...)

Also around his second birthday I noticed he was starting to say the letters of the alphabet after I'd say them, and soon after that he was pointing to the letters and naming them by himself. I was shocked. For the last few months now he's known his entire alphabet, but every time we'd do the puzzle or look at his Animal Alphabet book, I've never had my camera with me to record it. And, like any two-year-old, he won't sit still to do it a second time while I DO record it. SO, today, while I was cleaning out his activity bag and he saw his alphabet book, I made sure I had my camera ready. Enjoy!!

I'm a proud momma!

so far this month....

I can't believe it's the 17th!! The month is half over! And the only reason it's such a big deal is because I've been counting down the weeks until I go back to work...and unfortunately it's been flying by.
My maternity leave ends in 3 weeks :(
BUT, the bright side: I still have a job. I can still work to support us while Jeff finishes school (in November!!) and finds a new job. So until then I'll work my part time job, which, I should be extremely grateful for.

SO ANYWAY, these are some recent phone pictures from the last few weeks...enjoy!

Car ride somewhere...Wyatt's hair is so long--I've buzzed it since this.

goofy boys

a smile and a yawn! What a multi-tasker!

Logan's been doing a lot of this recently:

We love our Costco berry smoothies!

My mother-in-law gave Logan this onesie for Easter...and he wears it well ;)

My mom sent me this picture from Utah while she was there for her uncle's funeral. She loves lilacs!

Logan loves to chew on his fingers...he's been doing it since he was born!
