This last week's going-on's

So this weather is amazing, yeah?? Oh, I LOVE it!!

You know what else I love? Jeffrey.

And you know what else? I love baby growing in my belly. Haha, he's getting so big--it's to the point where he can hardly move anymore, so instead of somersaults and flips and cartwheels, he's attacking my whole belly with elbows and knees and his litte fists. It's fun to watch, but sometimes just a wee uncomfortable :)

Speaking of this little baby, I've only got about 2 weeks until the due date...I'm already a little dilated and 60% effaced...whatever all that means. All I know is that he's coming, and it's coming SOON.

Once again, I'm stealing one of Emily's ideas...this is our paper chain leading to the due date...the red is if I go past the due date...hopefully I won't have to use any of them.

Last Saturday my sister-in-law, Meaghan, got married to Lukas in the Mesa, Arizona temple. It was a beautiful day and absolutely perfect. Everything turned out wonderfully--Meaghan looked gorgeous, the reception was a blast, and everyone had a great time. I was actually asked by Meaghan if I would be one of her bridesmaids, in which I replied, "Well if you don't mind a fat pregnant lady in your line, sure!" Haha, I had a really fun time being a part of her special day...maybe a little TOO much fun, only because I was paying for it the next day...I could hardly move!!! It didn't help either that I totally biffed it and bruised my knee up--funny story:

So I was walking over to Jeff to ask him a question when my left heel (I specifically wore flats to avoid any injury...but aparently the half-inch heels on my flats were still too much) anyway, my left heel slid from underneath me and I went crashing to the ground and fell on my right knee...in my rush to get up so I could avoid any embarrassment, I stepped on my dress and fell again in the same position...by that time it was too late to avoid everyone's staring eyes and the flocks of people rushing to my side to help the clumbsy prego. Haha, I felt so dumb, and thankfully there was a logical explanation to my slip--we found some water on the ground, which is what I blamed any time any one asked. I walked, red-faced, over to Jeff, who was literally 5 feet away, and said, Did you not see me fall??

Jeff: You fell?

In other news (although it's not really news...), yesterday Jeff and I had fun spending time with his family for FHE. We ate some delicious soup that his momma made, then carved pumpkins, ate some homemade caramel apples, and watched Charlie Brown's 'The Great Pumpkin.' I'm sad that I didn't have my camera with me while we were there so I could show you all the different pumpkins that we all carved, but this one was ours...

Isn't it cute?? I definitely didn't do it free hand, so i can't take credit for the idea, but it was pretty dang hard!! I'm surprised it came out so well! I'm sad that it's already getting mushy, but those silly pumpkins never last more than a day or so once you cut into them...

So who thinks I'm going to be early with this baby?

While examining my belly a few nights ago I found my first stretch mark. Thankfully it's less than half an inch long and it's not very dark...

...but it's there...

...threatening to get bigger...

...or worse...

...invite some friends....

October Update

FOUR WEEKS LEFT= 36 WEEKS

That's less than a month.

Whoa baby.

I feel so HEAVY.

...so some updates, since I really haven't been blogging for the past month or so...oops...

I had 2 baby showers at the end of September, and they were wonderfully fabulous. I got a zillion cute baby things--clothes, blankets, socks...and an AMAZING rocking chair from my mom-in-law...
Jeff and I were also able to buy a stroller/carseat combo with the group gift money, which was a huge blessing. I just wanted to thank all those that came. I got a TON of great things, all of which I'm so glad to have received. (A huge special thanks to Noelle and Vicki who threw the showers for me...I love you guys always! Oh, and I can't forget my lovely mother who has been there every step of the way!)

In other news, I got my flu shot. Yay flu shot. Too bad I got a cold the week before...fever, congestion, cough...I felt gypped.

Jeff and I just finished our two part Childbirth Preparation class tonight. It was awesomely hilarious to look over at Jeff while some of the...invasive...topics were being covered. For example, Jeff was turning green at the videos of natual birth, epidurals, and cesarean section surgery...but overall he said he was really glad he went. He learned a lot and was able to calm some of his fears by knowing what really happens. I think the class was ultimately more for him than it was for me, only because I knew almost everything that was covered from reading my pregnancy book. (Jeff thought the whole labor process was over in a few hours--contractions, pushing, and delivered baby all done in half a day...he didn't know it usually lasts about 24 hours) I was, however, able to learn some breathing techniques and labor positions I never knew about...Jeff had great fun being my breathing coach. Hee-hee-hoooooooooo!

I can't wait for Halloween...wanna know why??? Hopefully it'll be the last day of work!! Cross your fingers and hope that everything goes as planned...

...annnnnnd now...time for bed. I'm so tired. As in UBER tired.

Sedona Trip

This Labor Day weekend I'm glad to say that I did NOT go into labor...

...even though my 7 month pregnant self did go on a hike!

Jeff and I went with Matt and Shannon and Jacob...

...this is the before shot...

It wasn't a very hard hike, thankfully...it was 5 miles roundtrip and the weather was gorgeous. There were only a few times where I really needed a breather...

I did notice though that I got winded a whole lot easier with these 20 extra pounds packed on...

We drove to Sedona to take this hike...it's so beautiful up there!

...don't worry...we didn't eat any...

Annnnnd this is the ride home...I think I was awake in the car for a total of 10 minutes before crashing into slumber....

(As did Shannon, Jacob and Jeff...poor Matt had to stay awake to drive us all home safely)

And here we are, safe and sound, back in Mesa...

It was an awesome little day trip. I'm glad we were able to spend it with family and friends :)

So my incredibly amazing sister, Grace, had a birthday this last week...and I bought her the cutest shirt EVER.

... and I thought it was SO CUTE that I decided I had to have it too...
...and then one day we wore it together without knowing...
...and my mom thought it was the funniest thing.
