Announcing Baby Wyatt

I know I took a while to get some pictures up, but hey, I've been busy :)

Wyatt McKay was born after 13 hours of labor at 7:13pm, weighing in at 8lbs 13oz and at a length of 18 inches (although I went to the doctor today and they said he's actually 21 inches...)

These are the guesses from those who visited us in the hospital...the categories are weight, time of arrival, and whether or not he'd have hair...Jeff's brother, Matthew, won (to all our surprise)

(Tim is on his mission and Ben wasn't allowed in the delivery area because he was considered 'contagious' being under 13 years old)

He likes to sleep...can you tell?? Just like his Dad...

Grandpa and Grandma Downs came to get a Wyatt-fix! As did the rest of the Jeff's family...we had a full house of lovin!!

That's it for now! I'll try to get some more up while he's actually awake, but it's hard since it seems like he's ALWAYS asleep! He keeps changing everyday, but I see more of Jeff in him than me...but that's okay--I married a wicked hott babe :)

Wyatt has been such a good baby and we love having him in our lives...it's definitely a change, but we're looking forward to every new experience

a question I've had for a while...

I know my Wyatt is the cutest baby ever.

But I always wonder what other people think...

No matter what they say, I want to know: what do they REALLY think about him?

...because think about it...

...if a baby isn't very attractive, are you really going to tell the parents that?

'...Oh WOW, your baby is UGLY...'

or

'What's wrong with his face???'

or

'Oh yeah, you've definitely got a keeper. No one else would want him.'

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen, haha.

So if you don't have a cute kid, how do you know?

Should I interpret silence as a sign that my baby is not cute? If I don't receive compliments, is that a sign?

All in all I guess it shouldn't really matter what anyone else thinks because he's my darling Wyatt and no one else can have him!

Just had to say thanks...

I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to my bestest who took some pregnancy pictures of me last weekend...she's an excellent photographer, so if any of you need your pics taken, I recommend her!! He's due tomorrow and I haven't had one sign of labor! I'm going CRAZY!!

I've tried everything:
I went for a nice looooooong walk.
I used the exercise ball.
Jeff man-handled some pressure points.
My entire house is clean. Even the STAIRS. (It's a HUGE feat. Don't ask.)
The baby's room is all done. (Except the chair railing. Don't ask.)
I ate some spicy food.
I participated in the unmentionable.
I was going to buy some black cohosh, and then realized I was too poor. (It's the thought that counts, right? Maybe not...)

He's so stubborn. (Just like Mom. And Dad. Oh crap.)

Why won't he come already!!?

I guess I can't really complain until after tomorrow.
I just thought I'd get a head start, since I can already tell he's going to be difficult.
