At the beginning of the year Jeff's family decided that our summer trip this year would be camping on the beach in California...unfortunately, due to complications with reserving the site (because it was ridiculously hard), it was moved back until September...last week. It was a little late, but absolutely AMAZING!! And it fell right on my mother-in-law's birthday, so it was nice that we got to spend time with her :) I'm so glad I have family that LOVES camping! The next few posts include our activities...
We visited the beach everyday, but on days 2 and 4 we spent almost the whole day there...it was divine.
Day 2 (the day after we arrived)
Day 4:
This day it was overcast and windy and very cold...not freezing, but definitely chilling. We decided to go to the beach anyway, and we're sure glad we did!! We got to see dolphins and sea lions right off shore! The beach and ocean where we were was really steep and didn't have very big waves, and because of this, the sealife was very close...we saw a pod of dolphins, 2 sea lions tagging along and a bunch of little fish being eaten! It was really special.
Grandpa feeding Wyatt some snacks. Wyatt didn't go swimming this day...too cold.
I loved the beach so much!! Thankfully we had showers to rinse all the sand away!!
(*side note* We visited a town called Slovang on the Day 3...it was a Danish community with SO MUCH to do! Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera, so I don't have any pictures from that day...a few memories: they had DUTCH candy and...Wyatt had a major blowout.)
